Men's Soccer to Host FC Cincinnati in Spring Friendly

CINCINNATI – Xavier men's soccer continues its spring campaign on Friday night with a highly-anticipated matchup against FC Cincinnati at XU Soccer Complex.

First touch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and the match is open to the general public free of charge.

Both teams will conduct postgame autograph sessions following the match.

ABOUT FC CINCINNATI

• FC Cincinnati was announced as the 26th franchise in the United Soccer League on Aug. 12, 2015 and will be competing in its first season in 2016. The club is coached by former U.S. National Team star John Harkes and will play its home matches at the University of Cincinnati's Nippert Stadium.

XU-FC CINCINNATI CONNECTIONS

• Since forming, FC Cincinnati has signed former Musketeers Dallas Jaye and Luke Spencer to professional contracts. Spencer has scored three goals for the team since joining the roster in February.
• Jamie Starr, Xavier's goalkeepers coach for seven seasons, is also on the staff for FC Cincinnati in the same role. He joined the team shortly after its formation. Starr trained many standout XU keepers, including current FC Cincinnati member and 2015 BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year Dallas Jaye.
