Sydney Schembri's Last Second Goal Gives Women's Soccer 2-1 Win Over Creighton

Schembri, Westwater each score fourth of the season
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's soccer opened its BIG EAST schedule with a win, topping Creighton 2-1 after Sydney Schembri scored in the closing seconds of the match. Xavier (5-4-2; 1-0 BIG EAST) took a 1-0 lead into the break, but Creighton (2-7-1; 0-1 BIG EAST) found the equalizer with less than 15 minutes remaining. Xavier's offense forced three corner kicks in the closing minutes of the game, connecting on the goal in the final 10 seconds to secure the win.
