"Today went really well for our girls. These were the type of results that we've been trying to achieve for the past year. Our top five executed the race plan to perfection which I think really worked in our favor over the last mile. This was a challenging course with unfavorable heat at the start so we wanted to manage our effort early in the race, use the hills in the 2nd mile to our advantage while still leaving enough in the tank to hammer the last 1K. The theme coming into this weekend was to earn respect and make a statement. We accomplished both of those goals today, finishing so close to some of the top nationally ranked teams. We have a long way to go before BIG EAST but I'm really proud of our girls and they deserve to celebrate todays results."
Â
"Individually Maddie Britton led the way with one of her best performances in over a year. Although times were slow, Maddie had a breakthrough day to finish in the top ten with so many strong teams and individuals in the race."
