Tolentino enters his second year on the Musketeer bench
CINCINNATI – Xavier head volleyball coach Christy Pfeffenberger announced the promotion of Ed Tolentino to associate head coach. Tolentino enters his second season on the Musketeer bench.
"I couldn't be more excited to promote Ed to associate head coach," said Pfeffenberger. "His experience and energy has helped build this program into the culture I envisioned. It is a joy to have him on staff and he is absolutely deserving of the title."
In his first year on the bench, Tolentino helped the Musketeers post a 20-13 overall record. Xavier placed second in the BIG EAST standings with a 13-5 mark and advanced to the conference tournament championship match.
Tolentino assisted in coaching Abbey Bessler and Sofia Peterson to All-BIG EAST First Team honors. Both players also picked up AVCA All-East Region First Team accolades.
The Detroit, Mich., native has over 19 years of coaching experience, including a three-year stint as the head coach at Oakland University (1999-01).
