Grossman Posts a Career-High 20 Kills in Road Loss at Providence

The junior hit .471 and added six digs on Friday night
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior Laura Grossman posted a career-high 20 kills on Friday night as the Xavier volleyball team dropped a four-set match (23-25, 25-18, 22-25, 21-25) on Friday night.
The Musketeers moved to 7-15 (2-6 BIG EAST), while the Friars improved to 15-7 (4-3 BIG EAST).
• Junior Laura Grossman posted a match-high 20 kills on Friday night. The outside hitter recorded a .471 hitting percentage and added six digs. She has posted 10 or more kills in a match four times this season.
• Junior Morgan Finn had nine kills, while Alexis Newsome, Maya Krause and Audrey Adams each added six kills. Adams also hit .600 and chipped in a block.
• Xavier had two more total team blocks (8-6) than the Friars. Lauren Frilling led the Musketeers with five blocks, while Morgan Finn added three.
• Xavier posted a season-high nine aces against Providence. Mackenzi Humm led the Musketeers with three aces, while Samantha Foti and Meredith Klare added two.
• Meredith Klare recorded a match-high 15 digs, while Samantha Foti added 11.
• Three different players had 10 or more assists in Mackenzi Humm (17), Nadia Dieudonne (14) and McKena Estes (12).
• Xavier returns to action at No. 17 Creighton on Sunday, Oct. 15 at 2 p.m. ET.
