The senior broke his own indoor high jump record on Saturday at Nutter Field House
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Senior Russell Platt broke his own indoor high jump record on Saturday afternoon, highlighting a number of standout Xavier performances at the Kentucky Invitational. The two-day meet was held at the at Nutter Field House.
Platt established the school record in the team's first meet of the 2016-17 season at the Mastodon Opener on Dec. 3.
"I thought today's meet went well for both the men and women that we had competing. The goal was to come down with a mid-season mentality, not a rust-buster after break mentality. Overall, I think both teams accomplished that. The men had two top-10 finishes, two personal best marks and a school record. On the women's side, we had one top-10 finish and three personal best marks. I'm looking forward to some great meets that we have coming up in the next few weeks where we can start to race many of our top athletes that didn't compete at UK."

Xavier returns to action at the Gladstein Invitational on Jan. 20-21 in Bloomington, Ind.
