Sophomore third baseman is riding a team-high 11 game hitting streak
CINCINNATI – Sophomore Rylan Bannon was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the second time this season after extending his career-best hitting streak to 11 games last week.
The Joliet, Ill. native led XU with a .500 batting average (6-for-12) in a four game week and tied for the team lead with a pair of runs and six total bases. Bannon also walked twice to post a .571 on-base percentage, while extending his team-best hitting streak to 11 straight games. He has raised his batting average from .220 to .283 during the streak.
For the season, the third baseman is hitting .283 with three homers and 10 RBI.
Xavier is back in action on Tuesday night, facing Miami (OH) in Oxford, Ohio to kick off the Joe Nuxhall Classic. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. ET.
