MADISON, Wis. - Xavier cross country wrapped up its 2016 season at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Friday, Nov. 11 at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, Wis.

The Xavier women placed 17th (out of 32), while the men took 25th (out of 30).

"As a team, it was a disappointing day. Individually, I thought Maddie put together a solid race coming off her injury in September. She got out really well with the lead pack, hit the splits that I gave her through 4K and ran a 20:48 - her second fastest time in college for 6K."

"Although the men finished one place better then last year, we're not satisfied. We came up to the regional to be a top-20 team and fell short of that goal. Individually, Garrett had a solid day, running the race rather even through 7K, matching one of his best 8K times of the year through the 8K split and finishing around the place and time I had expected."
