Men's Basketball Climbs to School Record No. 5 Ranking in AP Poll

Musketeers match program best with No. 6 USA Today Coaches Poll ranking

CINCINNATI – Xavier men's basketball (16-1, 4-1 BIG EAST) rose from No. 7 to a school-record No. 5 in the Associated Press Poll and from No. 8 to a school-record-tying No. 6 in the USA Today Coaches Poll this week. XU was No. 6 in both polls for Dec. 21 and Dec. 28.

This marks Xavier's ninth straight week in the AP Top 25 and its eighth straight week in the USA Today Coaches Poll Top 25. This is the fourth season Xavier has earned a spot in the AP Top 10 since 2008.

For the record, XU is at No. 5 in the CBSSports.com Poll and No. 5 in NBCSports.com Poll.

No. 5/6 Xavier hosts Georgetown (11-7, 4-2 BIG EAST) on Tuesday night at 8:30 p.m. on FS1.
