
CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL: BIG EAST Cross Country Championships

CINCINNATI – Xavier Athletics will host the 2015 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 31. The meet is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. from the Golf Center at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio.
Xavier is hosting a BIG EAST Championship for the first time since joining the conference in 2013.
Nine BIG EAST men's teams will compete in an 8K race at 11 a.m., followed by 10 women's teams competing in a 6K race at 11:50 a.m. The awards ceremony is scheduled to begin at 12:40 p.m.
The top-10 male and female individuals crossing the finish line will be placed on the all-conference first team with individuals placing 11th-20th being tabbed to the all-conference second team. The BIG EAST will also announce a 'Coaching Staff of the Year'.
Admission to the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships is free.
Spectator parking: Spectators are encouraged to park at the Paul Flory Grass Lot at the facility. Spectator parking is $5.
Team parking: Team vans should park at the Linder Lot at the nearby Lindner Family Tennis Center.
Media parking: Media should park at the Linder Lot at the nearby Lindner Family Tennis Center in the same lot designated for team/staff parking.
The BIG EAST Cross Country Championships will be aired on the BIG EAST Digital Network. Fans can watch via the FOX Sports GO mobile device application free of charge.

Villanova won the men's title last season, while Providence captured the women's title. The Wildcats finished seventh at the NCAA Championships with the Friars placing 13th.
A BIG EAST women's team has captured four of the last six NCAA titles, most recently Providence in 2013. All told, the BIG EAST has won 12 women's NCAA titles – paced by Villanova's nine championships.
