XU Volleyball Raised $3400 for Area Multiple Sclerosis Chapter

CINCINNATI - The Xavier volleyball team raised $3400 for the Ohio Valley chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society during its "Attack on MS" match on November 16 of this season. The team members accepted pledges for attack attempts, flat donations and also sold t-shirts in order to raise the money in order to help support the fight against MS.

The t-shirts sales raised and incredible $1860 for the team's cause while pledges totaled $1540. The check for $3400 will be presented to the Ohio Valley chapter Wednesday, Dec. 3 in honor of the team's "Attack on MS" efforts.

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system, which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another.
