CINCINNATI - The Visiting Dayton Flyers pulled out a three game sweep of Xavier (30-28, 30-28, 31-29) in the Cintas Center on Friday.
The loss is the second at home this season for Xavier (11-6, 2-1 A-10) and marks the first time in the three year history of the Cintas Center that the Musketeers have lost two matches at home in the same season.
With the win, Dayton (13-4, 2-1 A-10) moves into a tie with Xavier for second place in the Atlantic 10.
Xavier had three players reach double figures in kills as junior Kimberly Cockerel led the way with 11. The freshman duo of Katie Duchek and Meggie Hoffman each had 10 kills a piece for Xavier who hit just .196 compared to the Flyers' .239 hitting percentage.
Dayton had three players of its own record at least ten kills including Susan Westbrock who tallied a match-high 15 kills. Shannon Gardner had 13 and Julie Neiser added 10 for UD.
Xavier returns to action next Friday at home against Rhode Island at 7 p.m.
