Match Notes - SLU, Butler
- After seven-straight matches away from home, Xavier volleyball will open conference play by hosting Saint Louis and Atlantic 10-newcomer Butler this weekend in Cintas Center. First serve between the Musketeers and Billikens is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday's match with Butler will begin at 3 p.m.

Musketeers Advance to A-10 Finals After Downing SLU 3-1
For the second year in a row, the Xavier volleyball team will face Dayton in the finals of the Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championship. Similar to last year, the Musketeers had to make it past the Saint Louis Bilikens. XU defeated SLU, 3-1 (25-23, 26-24, 25-18, 25-23) and were led by outstanding performances.

Paszkiewicz and Campbell Named to All-Tournament Team as XU Defeats Butler
The Xavier Volleyball team won its night cap against host Butler in a 3-2 match (19-25, 25-16, 19-25, 25-19, 15-6) to close out the Butler Invitational with a 3-0 record. Seniors Claire Paszkiewicz and Chelsea Campbell were named to the All-Tournament Team, with Paszkiewicz earning the Tournament MVP award after tallying 47 assists, four blocks, 10 digs and a service ace. Xavier now goes to 5-4 on the season while Butler drops to 4-6

Last Time Out
Xavier is coming off of three-straight losses in the Golden Dome Invitational. The Musketeers pushed Notre Dame to five-sets on Friday night and lost to Kansas, 0-3, and Loyola Marymount, 1-3, on Saturday.
Second All-Tourney Honor for Brown
Junior outside hitter Sarah Brown was named to the Golden Dome Invitational All-Tournament Team after recording 42 kills and 44 digs over the weekend. She had previously earned a spot on the University of Delaware All-Tournament Team.
Setting the Attack
Sophomore setter Aubree Smith has dished out over 40 assists in two of XU's last three matches, including a season-high 48 assists at Notre Dame and 44 assists against Loyola Marymount. In her brief two-year career at Xavier, she has posted over 40 assists 14 times.
Brown Is Killing It Right Now
Brown posted double-digit kills in each of the last six matches. In fact, she is averaging 3.67 k/s and 2.95 d/s in Xavier's last six contests. Brown has reached double-digit kills in 10 of XU's 14 matches this season.
Scouting the Opposition - Saint Louis
The Billikens enter Friday's meeting with a 5-8 record and have lost four in a row. The four-match losing streak has come on the heels of a four-match winning streak.
Team Leaders: Lauren Baumet (2.42 k/s), Cassie Clarke (9.07 a/s), Grace Bonoma (4.30 d/s) and Carly Marcum (1.04 b/s).
SLU has a very balanced attack. In addition to Baumet, Lindsey Dinklelacker (2.37), Carly Marcum (2.02) and Megan Gilbert (2.02) also connect on more the 2.0 k/s.
Scouting the Opposition - Butler
The Bulldogs enter Saturday's match with a record of 10-4. They have won four of their last five. Their only loss coming at the hands of UC Davis, 0-3.
Team Leaders: Belle Obert (3.26 k/s), Morgan Peterson (9.85 a/s), Brooke Ruffolo (2.84 d/s) and Erica Stahl (1.48 b/s).
The Bulldog's actually have two players connecting on more than 3.0 d/s. Maggie Harbison is posting 3.08 k/s.
