Work Set To Begin On The Much-Anticipated New Cintas Center Scoreboard And Video Upgrade
June 4, 2010
CINCINNATI --- -
Cintas Center has been abuzz with activity in recent weeks with a number of events, including a long list of college and high school graduation. Monday the buzz of excitement will center on a major construction upgrade to the Cintas Center scoreboard and graphics systems.
The construction process on the new center hung scoreboard, a north scoreboard and fascia ribbon boards for Cintas Center will begin next week. (Note: each of the aforementioned items have links to images of the artists renditions of those new features.) The center-hung scoreboard main screen will go from a 16mm pixel pitch to 10mm pitch, effectively doubling the resolution of the current board.
"This is an exciting joint venture between Xavier University and our marketing partner, Xavier Sports Properties," said Xavier Associate Vice President and Athletic Director Mike Bobinski. "It will enhance the event experience for everyone who visits Cintas Center and will open up some exciting sponsorship opportunities."
Cintas Center, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, opened for the 2000-01 school year.
Due to the use of heavy construction equipment during much of this process, Xavier asks that its fans use the video and photo posts on GoXavier.com to get updates on changes during the process.
The new scoreboard and video system is slated to be operational by July 17, which will be in time for the Fr. Corapi show. That will be the first event to utilize the new system. Tickets for that event are being sold at TicketMaster.com.
The first Xavier athletic event to utilize the new scoreboard and video system will be a volleyball match. Xavier fans are encouraged to experience the new Cintas Center environment in person on as the Musketeers host the Xavier Invitational on September 3-4.
