Kelsey Dunaway posted 10 kills to lead Xavier to the finals of the A-10 Championship for the third-straight season.

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Kelsey Dunaway's ten kills led second-seeded Xavier (20-10) to a three-set sweep (25-18, 25-18, 25-20) of No. 3 VCU (25-5) to send the Musketeers to their third-straight Atlantic 10 Championship match. This is the first time in program history that XU will be in the championship match three years in a row and sets up another match with top seeded and 12th-ranked Dayton.

Dunaway's three kills led a pack of six Musketeers who recorded a kill in the opening frame as the Musketeers won, 25-18. By intermission, seven players had registered a kill and X led the match 2-0 after winning the second set, 25-18. Xavier won five of the first six points coming out of intermission and cruised to 25-20 win in set three.
XU put forth a balanced attack on the evening. Dunaway was the only player in the match to reach double-digit kills, but seven Musketeers registered a kill in the match.
Alex Blair put together a well-rounded match, registering nine kills and seven blocks. Sarah Brown put down eight kills and Amé White added seven. Alex Smith, Kaleigh Rougraff and Aubree Smith also posted kills in the match. Aubree Smithalso handed out 33 assists in the win.
In her quest for the A-10 digs record, Stephanie Vorherr passed 15 digs on the evening. The senior libero stands only 18 digs shy of tying the A-10 record, currently held by George Washington's Candace Silva-Martin with 2,126.
Xavier's A-10 leading defense held VCU, the A-10's second-most potent offense, to a hitting percentage of only .043. The Musketeers combined for nine total blocks, all assisted.
This is the first time in program history that the Musketeers have reached three-consecutive championship matches. XU made consecutive championship matches in the 2000 and 2001 seasons, winning the tournament in 2001.
Xavier will face the top-seeded Dayton Flyers in the A-10 Championship final tomorrow at noon. Dayton cruised to a three-set win over Temple in Saturday's first semifinal match. The Musketeers dropped two four-set decisions to the Flyers during the regular season.
