Junior Lauren Kaminsky tallied 10 kills and 11 digs versus Duquesne

CINCINNATI - The Xavier volleyball team snapped a four-match losing streak Saturday evening with a 3-1 (25-23, 15-25, 25-21, 25-22) win over visiting Duquense at Cintas Center. Junior Lauren Kaminsky recorded a double-double for the Musketeers with a team-high 10 kills and 11 digs.
Also for the Musketeers, junior Hillary Otte and sophomore Chelsea Campbell registered nine kills apiece while sophomore Claire Paszkiewicz got under a match-high 14 digs. Senior Jenn Welsh set a match-high 46 assists and Campbell tallied two solo blocks to go with three assisted blocks.
Xavier (15-12, 8-4 A-10) narrowly out-killed Duquesne (15-14, 3-10 A-10) by a margin of 54-51 while the Dukes posted the better hitting percentage (.264 to .216). DU recorded nine team blocks to XU's seven and the Musketeers barely won the digs battle, 55-53.
The Dukes were led by Liz Homan with a match-high 13 kills and Jessica Artman with a team-high 11 digs. Brittany Poling collected two solo blocks in the contest while Amanda Humphrey had four assisted blocks.
The Musketeers return to action Sunday, Nov. 16 for their final home contest of the season. XU will welcome No. 20 Saint Louis to Cintas Center for a 4 p.m. match-up. Xavier's two senior team members will be recognized during Senior Day presentations immediately preceding the match.
