Sarah Brown's 22 digs against Morehead State Tuesday evening pushed her past 1,000 for her career.

CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball cruised to a three-set victory against Morehead State at Cintas Center on Tuesday evening. XU ran its record to 12-7 and MSU fell to 15-6. Sarah Brown surpassed 1,000-career digs after registering a match-high 22. She now has 1,018 in her career.
"I thought we applied excellent defensive pressure tonight," said head coach Mike Johnson. Our defense is something we have been stressing over the past few weeks and it definitely delivered tonight. Credit to Sarah Brown on earning her 1,000th dig. She is a special volleyball player who has put in a tremendous effort over her career here. I'm very proud of her."
Morehead State opened up the second stanza taking a 12-9 lead. But, Xavier responded with a 5-1 run and later followed with runs of 4-0 and 7-1 before winning 25-16. As a team, XU combined for six blocks in the set.
The third set provided a lengthier test for the Musketeers, who pulled away at the end for for a 25-21 win. Trailing, 19-16, Xavier reeled off six-unanswered points to grab a lead it wouldn't relinguish.
Blair led Xavier's block-party, tallying six assisted blocks in the match. As a team, Xavier combined for 11.0 blocks. Abbey Bessler led the offensive attack with a match-high nine kills. She also added nine digs and tied her career-high for blocks at five.
Following the five-game home stand the Musketeers just concluded, Xavier will take to the road for a four-match swing. XU will travel to Omaha, Neb., for a 7 p.m. meeting with Creighton, which is receiving votes in the AVCA poll.
