GoXavier.com sat down with Xavier volleyball head coach Mike Johnson to discuss the team's success during the 2012 campaign and take a look ahead at the 2013 season.
Xavier senior Stephanie Vorherr is one of the all-time great players in XU volleyball history. The Cincinnati native holds the program's all-time digs record and has been named the Atlantic 10 Libero of the Year three times.

2012 AVCA All-America Honorable Mention
2012: Graduated as the all-time digs leader in the A-10 with 2,152 digs, tallying 33 digs in the final match of her career at Ball State to topple the record ... Earned AVCA All-America Honorable Mention by a unanimous vote from the All-America selection committee ... Also recognized as AVCA All-District Honorable Mention ... Named 2012 A-10 All-Conference Second Team ... Two-time A-10 Defensive Player of the Week on September 4th and October 29th ... Named to the Big Orange Bash All-Tourney Team ... Saw action in 115 sets throughout 31 matches ... Recorded 558 digs, the second-best total in program history ... Averaged 4.85 digs per set (79th in the country) and 1.01 assists per set ... Reached her 2000th-career dig against Duquesne on November 26 ... With 20 digs against Miami (OH) on September 4, became Xavier's all-time digs leader surpassing the previous mark of 1,728 ... Against Ole Miss, broke her own school record for digs in a single match with 46s ... Logged a season-high 16 assists against Clemson ... Posted 10 assists and 19 digs against Coastal Carolina ... 2011: Played in 31 matches for Xavier, including 111 sets ... named the Atlantic 10 Libero of the Year for the third consecutive season ... named to the Atlantic 10 Second Team All-Conference ... member of the Michigan/adidas Invitational All-Tournament roster ... sits third all-time in career digs for Xavier with 1594 ... her 477 digs as a junior is the fourth-most in a season for a Musketeer ... tallied a double-double at Western Kentucky where she had a career-high 12 assists and passed 15 digs ... passed at least 15 digs on 20 occasions ... passed a season-high 25 digs vs. La Salle on Sept. 24 ... earned her first career assisted block in the final match of the season against Lipscomb on Nov. 26 ... had at least one service ace in 17 matches, including a six-match streak ... second on the team in assists with 107.
2010: Saw action in all 30 matches for XU, including 112 sets ... named the Atlantic 10 Libero of the Year for the second consecutive season ... named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) 2010 Division I All-Northeast Region Team, the first regional award for a Musketeer since the 2007 season ...AVCA 2010 Division I Honorable Mention All-American Team, first national honor for a Musketeer since the 2007 season... two-time A-10 Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 18 and Nov. 2) ... named to the Lady Vol Classic All-Tournament Team ... led the team and conference and was 21st in the nation with 5.38 digs/set ... her 662 digs set a new single-season dig record in Xavier program history, besting her record from last season by 148 digs ... broke the Atlantic 10 record for most digs in a match, a record that was held for 16 years, with a monstrous 43 digs vs. No. 18 Dayton on Oct. 15 ... tallied her first career double-double vs. Dayton on Oct. 15 with 43 digs and 10 assists ... broke the 1,000-dig mark and currently sits with 1,117 for her career ... posted 15 20+ dig matches.
2009: Played all 116 sets over 32 matches for the Musketeers in her freshman campaign ... named the Atlantic 10 Libero and Rookie of the Year as well as earning mention on the A-10 All-Rookie Team ... two-time A-10 Rookie of the Week (Oct. 26 & Nov. 16) and three-time A-10 Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 8, Oct. 19 & Oct. 26) ... led the team, ranked second in the A-10 and 93rd in the nation with 4.43 digs/set (514) and averaged 4.82 d/s in conference matches to lead the league ... her 514 digs set a new single-season digs record for Xavier program history, beating the previous mark by 22 which had stood since 1988 ... tallied a career-high 30 digs at George Washington on Oct. 23 ... recorded 10 20+ dig matches, including a 29-dig outing versus No. 7 Michigan on Sept. 5 ... was named to the Xavier Invitational and Ohio State Sports Imports Classic All-Tourney Team.
Prior to Xavier: A four-year varsity starter, Vorherr helped lead Cincinnati's Mercy High School to a 2007 state championship and a 2006 state runner-up finish ... in 2008 Mercy made it to the regional semifinals ... earned several individual honors her season year highlighted by being named All-GGCL Player of the Year in addition to making the All-GGCL First Team roster ... was also named to the Cincinnati Enquirer First Team, the SWOVBCA First Team and earned the Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award in addition to the SWOVBCA Academic Award in 2008 ... garnered All-GGCL Honorable Mention honors following both her sophomore and junior season as well as All-City Honorable Mention by the Cincinnati Enquirer ... in 2006 set the Mercy school record for digs in a season (307) and attacks in a season (1005).
