Ilyanna Hernandez was a graduate assistant coach for two seasons, joining the Musketeers in the fall of 2014. She assisted in the day-to-day operations of the program including team travel and on-court instruction.

In two seasons on the bench, the Musketeers posted a 40-23 overall record with a 24-10 mark in BIG EAST action. Xavier also advanced to two BIG EAST Tournaments.

Hernandez also assisted in coaching six All-BIG EAST honorees, including five first-team selections. She also helped coach three players to AVCA All-American Honorable Mention honors.

The Los Angeles native played collegiately at Austin Peay State University from 2008-12 where she finished her career ranked 10th in school history in kills (1,007). She also led the Lady Govs to an Ohio Valley Conference Championship in 2010 and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Hernandez earned a bachelor’s degree from Austin Peay in 2012 and a master’s degree in sport administration from Xavier in 2015.
