Sydney Liggins was tabbed the Women's Tennis Freshman of the Year by the BIG EAST coaches.

CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis picked up a pair of all-conference accolades from the BIG EAST Conference on Thursday morning. Freshman Sydney Liggins was named Freshman of the Year, and both Liggins and sophomore Alex Brinker were selected to the All-BIG EAST Team.
Liggins was a unanimous selection to the team after posting a 24-8 overall record, which included a 19-5 record in dual meets and a sensational 9-2 mark at No. 1 singles. The native of Caledonia, Mich., closed the season on a six-match win-streak.
Brinker earned All-BIG EAST distinctions after ripping off a 20-14 overall mark during the 2013-14 fall and spring seasons, which included a 16-9 record in dual meets. The Granger, Ind., native went 8-5 at the No. 1 spot and 8-4 at No. 2 singles.
Xavier's top two players helped lead the Musketeers to the championship match of the BIG EAST Tournament. XU succumbed to DePaul and earned a runner-up finish in the program's inaugural BIG EAST season.
