CINCINNATI - Women's tennis has a BIG weekend ahead of them with two BIG EAST conference matches to round out its regular season schedule.

First up for the Musketeers are the Bluejays of Creighton Friday afternoon at Lunkin Airport Tennis Playfield with first serve slotted for 2 p.m. During this match, the Xavier tennis players will be wearing pink in support of the Pink Ribbon Girls and to raise breast cancer awareness.

"For the second straight year, the Xavier Women's team will compete for the Pink Ribbon Girls foundation, a local organization that provides personalized support to young women battling breast cancer. The team will wear special uniforms for the match complete with the Pink Ribbon Girls logo," said head coach Eric Toth.

Creighton posts a record of 10-7, winning eight of their last 10 matches. The Bluejays went 2-0 last weekend with wins over Hastings, 7-0, and Omaha, 5-2.

On Sunday, Xavier will face Providence in another BIG EAST conference match. The Friars come into the match with a 5-12 overall record and a 1-3 BIG EAST record. This past week Providence sophomore Hannah Zangari grabbed player of the week honors going 4-1 in singles and doubles play.
