PHILADELPHIA --- The Xavier University women’s tennis team picked up a pair of weekly honors this week. Junior Emily Senich (Akron, OH/Akron Walsh Jesuit) was named Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Tennis Player-of-the-Week while freshman teammate and doubles partner Kate Weightman (Tomball, TX/Klein) was named A-10 Women’s Tennis Rookie-of-the-Week.

Senich won her number one singles match against Dayton on April 4, 6-3, 6-4. Weightman won her number two singles match against Dayton, 6-2, 6-3. The duo combined for an impressive 8-0 win at number one doubles against the Flyers.

Xavier, 11-9, finishes the regular season with matches at Louisville today and at Wright State next Tuesday. The Atlantic 10 Conference Championships will take place April 20-22 at Veteran’s Park in Hamilton, NJ.
