CINCINNATI - The Xavier women's tennis team returns home to kick off a busy month that includes five home matches beginning with Massachusetts and IUPUI this weekend.

The Musketeers (7-4, 2-0 Atlantic 10) play host to a hot UMass (9-2, 3-0 A-10) team starting at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club. Xavier returns the following night to face a struggling IUPUI (2-9) team at the same time and location.

Xavier returns to Cincinnati after spending its spring break in Hawaii. The Musketeers faced some tough competition and were unable to pick up wins over Hawaii and No. 40 San Diego State.

Despite the teams losses, freshman Alex Brinker (left) was able to pick up two more victories at the No. 2 singles posi¬tion and improved her winning streak to nine matches. Her only loss of the year came to nationally-ranked Rebecca Shine of Louisville.

Also with a stellar singles record is senior Katie Pleiman who is sporting an 8-3 mark at the top spot for the Musketeers. Junior Andrea Wolf sports a 7-4 dual match record this year as well.

The Musketeers play five of their six matches in March in Cincinnati. Xavier hosts Temple, Duquesne and Cincinnati over the course of the month. XU closes out the home slate on April 9 against Wright State.
