CINCINNATI - After missing the fall recovering from an injury Xavier senior Katie Pleiman has returned to form and won four combined matches last week as she picked up the Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week award.
Pleiman's wins helped Xavier capture two victories last week - both 6-1 decisions - over Butler and Cleveland State.
The Dayton native has had her way in singles matches this year posting a healthy 7-2 record which includes wins over Butler's Stephanie McLoughling (6-2, 7-5) and Cleveland State's Alexandra Bush (6-1, 7-5). She also teamed with classmate Kally Alkire to pick up two doubles victories.
It's the second-career performer of the week title earned by Pleiman at Xavier. She also has three rookie of the week awards that she earned in 2010.
The Musketeers have a lengthy lay off as they prepare for a spring break trip to Hawaii where they will face Hawaii and San Diego State.
