Xavier Women's Tennis Wins Three Times in Two Days
The Xavier women's tennis team racked up three wins in three tries this weekend, improving their record to 6-3 on the season. The wins came over Eastern Kentucky (5-2), Western Kentucky (6-1) and Morehead State (6-1).
Freshman Kate Weightman (Tomball, TX) led the way for the Musketeers, winning five of a possible six matches. Weightman won all three of her #2 singles matches and two of her three doubles contests. Co-captain Natalie Palmenter (Evansville, IN) was also a big contributor to Xavier's success this past weekend. The senior went 3-0 in #4 singles action. In fact, she never needed more than two sets to record the win. In other action, Beth Abraham (Rocky River, OH) went 3-1 on the weekend, with two wins in #3 singles and one win in #3 doubles. Senior Tracie Fraunfelder (Toledo, OH) was 3-2 on the weekend with two #2 doubles wins and a #5 singles win. The women's tennis team will compete again this Saturday, February 24 at Miami at 1:00 p.m.
