CINCINNATI - The Xavier women's tennis team will play its only contest of the weekend when it travels to face Eastern Kentucky in a match beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday at the Greg Adams Indoor Tennis Center.
Last weekend the Musketeers (1-1) rattled off a 5-2 victory over Detroit on Friday at home to begin the dual season before falling to Louisville in a regional match on Sunday. In the Musketeers win Xavier dropped the doubles point but received victories from its top five singles players.
Xavier's lineup has been the same through the first two matches with senior Katie Pleiman, freshman Alex Brinker and Daniella Patton assuming the top three spots respectively for the Musketeers. Each player has a 1-1 singles record after winning their opening match of the season.
Also with even singles marks is senior Kally Alkire at No. 4 singles and junior Andrea Wolf at the five spot. Sophomore Lizzie Oosterbaan is still searching for her first victory after spending time at the No. 6 singles position in the first two matches.
Head coach Eric Toth has also remained with the same doubles pairs over the first matches. Xavier will be searching for its first doubles victory of the year against the Colonials.
