Women's Tennis Completes Day Two of UC Invite

CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis completed its fall schedule with the final day of the University of Cincinnati Invitational. The Musketeers competed against Bowling Green in doubles and both Ball State and Cincinnati in singles.
The pairing of Cristina Di Lorenzo and Daniella Patton defeated Nikki Chiricosta and Katie Brozovich of Bowling Green, 8-3, while Allyson Westling and Andrea Wolf beat Harley Hutchison and Hannah Drayton, 8-4, giving the duo a 3-0 record for the weekend.
Xavier took care of business against the Ball State Cardinals. The two freshman, Di Lorenzo and Sydney Liggins, both won their matches aiding Xavier in the victory. Andrea Wolf also helped with her 6-0, 6-1 victory over Marin Kanii, and finally Alex Brinker defeated Courtney Wild, 6-3, 6-3.
Last, but not least, the Musketeers battled their crosstown rival the Bearcats of UC with Liggins and Di Lorenzo pulling out victories against their opponents. Liggins faced Ashleigh White and came out on top, 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (6) and Di Lorenzo defeated Caitlin O'Gara, 6-0, 6-0.
The Musketeers will begin their spring season on Jan. 25, 2014 against Indiana at the Western Tennis and Fitness Club in Cincinnati at 11:00 a.m.
