Day One Of UC Invite For Women's Tennis Allows Singles Play To Shine

CINCINNATI - Women's tennis had success on day one of the University of Cincinnati Invitational, winning six out of its seven singles matches and Andrea Wolf finishing the day with a 3-0 record.
The team started out with doubles play against Ball State. The pair of Wolf and Allyson Westling gave Xavier their only win, beating Courtney Wild and Ashlyn Rang, 6-5.
Next, Xavier took on Cincinnati in doubles with Westling and Wolf giving Xavier another win by defeating Carly Wilson and Hannah Wille, 8-2. Adding to the win total was Cristina Di Lorenzo and Daniella Patton, who beat Ashleigh Witte and Lauren Bellinger, 8-7 (4).
Singles competition against Bowling Green rounded off the day for the Musketeers, and where they showed their strength by posting a 6-1 record. Christina Di Lorenzo capitalized on her opponent Emily Reuland, 6-3, 6-1, improving her fall season record to 4-2. Wolf rounded off her day of impeccable play by beating Brittany Plaszewsk, 6-2, 6-4.
Day two begins with doubles competition against Bowling Green at 10:00 a.m., which is followed by singles play against Ball State at 11:30 a.m. Xavier will round off the tournament against Cincinnati in singles at 3:30 p.m.
