Women's Tennis Wins BIG Over Creighton While Wearing Pink

CINCINNATI - The Xavier women's tennis team swept Creighton Friday afternoon while supporting the Pink Ribbon Girls.. The Musketeers are now 2-1 in the BIG EAST and 16-5 overall.
Senior Andrea Wolf started the team off strong with a win over Sam Anderson, 6-0, 6-0, at the No. 5 spot. Following in her footsteps was Lizzie Oosterbaan with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Karlin Naslund. Alex Brinker defeated Analese Snyder, 6-1, 6-1, and Sydney Liggins beat Jennie Hartjes, 6-2, 6-1.
Xavier doubles competition knew how to get the job done. Patton and Di Lorenzo defeated Amanda Noonan and Snyder, 8-0, followed by the senior duo of Allyson Westling and Wolf winning their match over Naslund and Anderson, 8-2.
"Very good team performance today," said assistant coach Doug Matthews. "We were extra motivated as we were supporting the Pink Ribbon Girls Foundation. There is no doubt we will be extra hyped up again Sunday as we attempt to send Seniors Andrea Wolf and Ally Westling off with a win against Providence in their final home match."
Xavier plays its final regular season match against BIG EAST rival Providence at Lunken Airport Tennis Playfield where they will honor seniors Wolf and Westling. First serve is slotted for 9 a.m.
