HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. -- The Xavier women's tennis team made the short trip across the Ohio River to face Northern Kentucky Wednesday afternoon and returned home with an 8-1 win. With the win, the Musketeers improved to 13-7 on the season.
"I felt we improved off of yesterday's performance against Wright State," said Xavier coach Eric Toth. "It simply takes awhile to adjust to outdoor play after being indoors the majority of the year. We have one more big non-conference match next week against Cincinnati that will have a conference tournament feel in terms of how hard we will have to compete and play if we are to come out on top. This is a match I know our girls are looking forward to playing."
XU too all three doubles matches and five-of-six singles matches on the day. Tifanie Treece earned a 6-1, 6-2 win in the top singles slot.
The XU women will return to action Tuesday as they travel across town to face Cincinnati. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
