CINCINNATI -- The Xavier women's tennis team rallied after losing the doubles point and defeated Atlantic 10 Conference foe Saint Louis 4-3 Friday night.

"I am really proud of our girls tonight," said Women's Assistant Coach Rudy Vliegenberg. "To be down 3-0 against a good team and come back with a lot on the line says a lot about the fight in this team."

After seeing SLU take two of three doubles matches, the Musketeers rallied to take singles wins at No. 1, No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6 to seal the win.

Freshman Katie Pleiman got things started for XU with a 7-6, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles. Senior Jill Ducro earned the Musketeers' next win at No. 3 when she defeated Sarah Septien 6-1, 0-6, 6-3.

Senior Kaitlyn Zinn kept XU on top with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No, 5 and Kelsey Kinnard defeated Kasia Tomalak 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 to round out the XU win.

With the victory, the Musketeers improved to 10-7 overall and 5-0 in the A-10. XU will host rival Dayton in A-10 action Sunday at 10 a.m.
