LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Senior Kara Courtney won her top flight singles match in straight sets, but it wasn't enough to propel the women's tennis team on Friday. The Musketeers fell to Louisville, 6-1, after a 10-day break between dual meets.

Courtney improved to 9-4 in the spring, earning her fifth straight singles victory. She bested Lindsey Jones with back-to-back 6-2 set victories.

Sophomore Tifanie Treece pushed her Flight 2 match against Bianca Gorbea to the limit, winning the second set 6-3 to force a decisive third set. Gorbea held on for the victory, however, claiming the third set 6-2.

No other Musketeer was able to capture a set as the Cardinals won five of the six singles matches and swept the doubles action.

XU won't have to wait long to return to action, taking on Bellarmine Saturday, March 20 at 7 p.m. at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Center.
