BOCA RATON, FLA. – The Xavier women’s tennis team extended its win streak to seven defeating Florida Atlantic 4-2 on Wednesday afternoon. Doubles play was canceled due to threatening weather.  The Musketeers improved to 9-3 on the season.

Junior Katie Pleiman led the way at the No. 1 spot in singles play.  Pleiman downed her opponent (6-2, 7-6(3)).  Sophomore Andrea Wolf succeeded in three (7-6(3), 2-6, 6-3).  Also winning were junior Kally Alkire (6-2, 6-7(7), 6-1) and freshman Lizzie Oosterbaan (6-2, 6-3).

“Another really good performance by our girls today. Beating a solid team in our first time outdoors is something they can really be proud of. Our girls really bring a lot of fight each time they come out and are giving the coaching staff all that we can ask for right now. Stetson will really provide a good test for us tomorrow.  We look forward to another good battle and know we’ll have to compete like we’ve been recently to earn another win,” said head coach Eric Toth.

Xavier returns to action tomorrow Thursday March 8 against Stetson.  First serve is set for 11 a.m.
