BOCA RATON, Fla. - Women's tennis Florida trip ended with a 6-1 victory over Florida Atlantic extending its win streak to nine.

Junior Lizzie Oosterbaan defeated Claire-Mitchell Andrews, 6-3, 6-2, after Cristina Di Lorenzo obtained Xavier's first point of the match due to injury of Lyndsey Boos. Alex Brinker was then able to bring in the team's third point with a two-set victory over Stephanie Cardullo, 6-1, 7-5.

Daniella Patton and Andrea Wolf did not back down when their matches got tough. Patton, at the No. 4 position, lost her first set, 6-1, to Catalina Ene. She was then able to turn things around and win the next two sets, 6-2, 6-1.

At the No. 5 position, Wolf was up against Bianca Biglione. Wolf was able to take a very close first set, 7-5. The second set was taken by Biglione, 6-4, but Wolf was able to pull out the last set, 10-6, for the match.

Doubles competition was done in true Musketeer fashion. Di Lorenzo and Patton defeated Andrews and Kandis Legall, 8-3, while Brinker and Liggins defeated Biglione and Cardullo, 8-2, securing the doubles point. Allyson Westling and Wolf led Boos and Ene, 7-4, before the point was secured.

"A very good Spring Break trip for our girls," said head coach Eric Toth. "This team has competed exceptionally well this first half of the season. Today was just another example of how our girls continue to pull out close sets and matches. We had a good performance across the board today, but felt Daniella Patton and Andrea Wolf's effort really stood out. Things were not going their way in each of their matches and they really stayed within themselves and dug deep for wins today. I look forward to seeing our girls continue to improve over the last month in a half and seeing what kind of long term success we will have."

The next match for the Musketeers is against the Rockets of Toledo at Western Tennis and Fitness Club. First serve is set for 4 p.m. on Friday, March 14.
