Xavier Took Care Of Business With A 7-0 Win Over BGSU

CINCINNATI - The women's tennis team took care of business at home defeating Bowling Green, 7-0, Friday night.
"To beat a team like Bowling Green 7-0 is great for our program," said assistant coach Doug Matthews. "I'm proud of the way we played and competed. I expect us to come out against IUPUI with the same effort and intensity."
Doubles competition continued to play relentlessly with Danielle Patton and Cristina Di Lorenzo keeping their perfect season record intact with a win over Nikki Chiricosta and Katie Brozovich, 8-3. The senior duo of Allyson Westling and Andrea Wolf beat Hannah Drayton and Harley Hutchison, 8-7(5).
Singles came out with the same intensity as doubles play beginning with a win from Sydney Liggins over Emily Reuland, 6-2, 6-1, then Wolf grabbed her singles match from Hutchison, 6-2, 6-0. Patton got a two-set victory over Drew Fillis, 6-1, 6-3.
Sophomore Alex Brinker defeated Chiricosta, 7-6(4), 6-0, at the No. 1 singles position. Rounding out the singles victories was Lizzie Oosterbaan and Di Lorenzo beating their opponents, 6-4, 7-6(6) and 3-6, 6-3, 10-8, respectively.
The Musketeers will take their same effort and intensity into Saturday, Feb. 22 for their match against the Jaguars of IUPUI. The match will take place at West Indy Racquet Club set to begin at 4 p.m.
