CLEVELAND, OHIO - The Xavier women's tennis had a 1-0 lead heading into singles play but was unable to hold on as Cleveland State defeated the Musketeers 4-3 Friday night.  Xavier falls to 2-3 on the season.

 

Juniors Katie Pleiman and Kally Alkire defeated Maria Lazaris and Catrine Bjerrehus 8-4 in the No.1 doubles match.  In the No. 2 doubles match sophomore Allyson Westling and freshman Daniella Patton downed Alex Power and Alexandra Bush 9-7.

 

Xavier won the No.1 and No. 2 single matches with Pleiman defeating Lazaris 6-1, 6-4 and Patton winning 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 over Bjerrehus.

 

The Musketeers return to action tomorrow February 11 at Youngstown State.  The first serve is set for 5 p.m.
