CINCINNATI - The Xavier women's tennis team earned a 7-0 victory over a diminished Morehead State on Friday night at the Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club.
The Musketeers (5-1) captured their fourth-straight victory in a row with wins from their top four singles players and taking the doubles point. The Eagles played only four singles players and were unable to field a team for the third doubles position.
"Obviously, Morehead State was really depleted tonight and we had little trouble tonight," head coach Eric Toth said. "Regardless of the circumstances our girls remained focused the entire evening which was nice to see. We look forward to playing Indiana on Saturday and seeing what we can go against a really strong team that has gotten off to a good start so far this year."
In those four singles victories the Musketeers only dropped three games to the Eagles and Alex Brinker and Andrea Wolf each had clean 6-0, 6-0 wins. Katie Pleiman pushed aside her opponent for a 6-0, 6-2 No. 1 singles win and Daniella Patton scored a 6-0, 6-1 win.
It was the fourth-straight singles victory for Pleiman, Brinker and Wolf.
