Musketeers Remain Undefeated In Atlantic 10 Competition

Five Xavier tennis players earned conference awards. Jimmy Roebker, Mesa Mei, and Katie Pleiman were named to the first team. Brandon MacDonald and Daniella Patton earned second team honors. MacDonald and Pleiman were named to the academic team.
Katie Pleiman, a junior on the women's tennis team, is featured in this week's Meet the Musketeers segment.
Xavier's tennis teams host conference opponents at home for the first time this season. The women's team faces Dayton on Wednesday and St. Bonaventure on Friday. The men take on St. Bonaventure on Friday and Duquesne on Sunday.
Outside of the men's basketball team, the Musketeers have a busy upcoming week. Tennis steps out of conference play, baseball has five games on the road, both golf teams are in Florida, and track is headed to Alabama.
Two Atlantic 10 Conference championships will be held in the near future for the Musketeers. The track and field team will run at the A-10 Indoor Championship this weekend while swimming starts next week. Both tennis teams are also in action.
As a Junior (2011-12): An Atlantic 10 First Team and All-Academic Team selection ... Spent her junior season as the top singles player for the Musketeers going 18-7 overall in singles matches and 13-11 as a doubles partner ... Won six-straight to close out the year and had 13 victories in the final 15 matches ... Held a perfect 4-0 conference record ... Went 15-4 in dual matches ... Longest winning streak of the spring season was seven matches ... Excelled with Kally Alkire as her doubles partner ... The pair combined for 12 doubles victories all coming from the No. 1 spot during dual matches in the spring ... The two also went 3-1 in conferences matches and won their match against St. Bonaventure in the A-10 Tournament.
As a Sophomore (2010-2011): First Team All-Conference selection Tied for the lead in overall singles wins with a 22-7 overall record and led the team with a 16-4 singles mark in the dual match season Played all of her singles matches during the dual match season in the No. 1 position Went 16-12 overall in doubles action including a 13-8 mark in the dual match season Two A-10 weekly honors Advanced to the main draw quarterfinals at the ITA regional.
As a Freshman (2009-2010): Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year Had a stellar rookie season, posting a 23-7 overall singles record including a 15-4 singles record during the dual match season Won the Flight A Singles competition at the Queen City Invitational Finished third in Flight Three at the Bowling Green State University Invitational Earned three Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors All of her 15 singles wins came in the No. 1 position Posted a 21-7 doubles record including a 16-4 record during the dual match season All of her doubles wins were earned with sister, Christie Pleiman A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for the fall and spring semester.
Prior to Xavier: Individual win-loss record of 126-10 at Chaminade-Julienne High School...team MVP junior and sophomore years.
