CINCINNATI - The Xavier women's soccer team is putting its two-game road winning streak on the line Saturday as it heads to Evansville to take on the Purple Aces. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at UE's McCutchan Stadium.
About the Musketeers Xavier (5-4-0, 0-0-0 A-10) has won four of its last five matches including a 2-0 shutout of visiting Eastern Kentucky Wednesday night at XU Soccer Complex. Junior Mariah Whitaker has seven points (t-6th A-10) to lead the Musketeers offensively. Her 15 shots on the season is tied with freshman Erin McGauley for most on the squad. Whitaker (3) and freshman Catherine Allon (2) are the only two Musketeers with multiple assists on the season. Sophomore Katie Markesbery is a fixture in goal for XU, working 806 minutes over nine matches. She holds a 1.67 GAA and has three shutouts.

Xavier Wins Second Straight With 1-0 Win Over Evansville
Xavier sophomore Mariah Whitaker's goal in the 58th minute was all the Musketeers needed to earn a 1-0 victory over Evansville Wednesday night at the XU Soccer Complex. With the win, the Musketeers improved to 2-2-0 while the Purple Aces fell to 1-3-1.
Scouting Evansville Evansville (1-6-1, 0-0-0 MVC) is coming off a scoreless double-overtime tie at Southeast Missouri State on Thursday. The Purple Aces got off nine shots to the Redhawks' 18. Evansville has only scored four goals on the season, one each from Abby Springer, Stephanie Thompson, Kayla Smith and Kristen Davis. The Purple Aces' everyday goalkeeper is Chaviel Harrison who has started six games between the posts - she has tallied 33 saves and holds a 2.65 GAA.
Last Time Out The Musketeers picked up their third shutout of the season and fourth win in their last five games Wednesday night with a 2-0 victory over visiting Eastern Kentucky. Freshman Erin McGauley scored the game-winner for XU in the 14th minutes while senior Brooke Eberly recorded her first goal of the season in the 75th minute. Freshman Catherine Allon tallied two assists on the night while classmate Kassidy Mikula and junior Mariah Whitaker each had a helper as well. Sophomore Katie Markesbery got the win in goal for Xavier, grabbing seven saves to zero goals against.
