CINCINNATI - After posting back-to-back shutout victories on the road, the Xavier women's soccer team is set to play host to Indiana Friday night at XU Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and there will be free food and t-shirts to the first 200 students in attendance!

Xavier Falls 1-0 To Indiana
Despite another strong defensive effort, the Xavier women's soccer team fell 1-0 at Indiana Friday night. A late goal in the 84th minute by Hoosier forward Carly Samp was the lone goal of the match.
About the Musketeers Xavier (3-3-0, 0-0-0 A-10) posted its second-consecutive shutout victory with its 1-0 overtime win at Northern Kentucky Tuesday night in the Norse’s first-ever Division I home match. Junior Mariah Whitaker is the team’s leading point scorer with sixth on the season (t-4th A-10) while five other Musketeers have also found the back of the net this year. Sophomore goalkeeper Katie Markesbery has worked 555:50 minutes on the season and holds a 1.46 GAA (7th A-10).
Scouting Indiana Indiana (2-3-0, 0-0-0 Big Ten) dropped a 5-0 decision at then-fifth ranked Pepperdine this past Sunday. The Hoosiers are led by Lisa Nouanesengsy who has scored five goals (10 pts.) on the season while five other Hoosiers have contributed at least one goal as well. Shannon Flower is IU’s everyday player in goal having put in 471:49 minutes of work and she holds a 1.72 GAA.
Last Time Out On Tuesday the Musketeers crossed the Ohio River into Kentucky to square-off against regional foe Northern Kentucky at NKU Soccer Stadium. XU and NKU were knotted a 0-0 after regulation, sending the contest into overtime. Sophomore Margaret Woods came up big for the Musketeers in the extra frame, scoring her first collegiate goal in the 98th minute to give Xavier the 1-0 win, its second-consecutive shutout victory.
Road Warriors The Musketeers played five of their first six matches of 2012 on the road. XU went 2-3 in those contests, recording its first road win of the season Sunday afternoon at IUPUI. Friday’s match against Indiana in the Xavier’s first at home since Aug. 20.
