CINCINNATI - Coming off its first shutout of the season, the Xavier women's soccer team is set to take on regional foe Northern Kentucky Tuesday evening at the NKU Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. This is NKU's first season competing at the Division I level but were 2011 DII NCAA Tournament participants.
The match will be streamed live for FREE through the Atlantic Sun.

Xavier (2-3-0, 0-0-0 A-10) earned a 3-0 shutout result at IUPUI Sunday in a weather-shortened match in Indianapolis. Junior Mariah Whitaker is the team’s leading points scorer with six, which is tied for fourth in the Atlantic 10 standings. Four other Musketeers have netted goals on the season as well. Goalkeeper Katie Markesbery boasts a 1.77 GAA and has tallied 27 saves (4th A-10) for the year.
Scouting Northern Kentucky
Northern Kentucky (1-3-0, 0-0-0 A-Sun) is competing in its first year of Division I after reaching the DII NCAA Tournament last season. The Norse dropped a 3-2 decision at Tennessee Tech this past Friday and NKU is led offensively by Megan Frye with two goals and one assist on the year. Cassie Lingenhoel is the Norse’s everyday player in goal after starting all four games this season for NKU. She has a 1.50 GAA and has collected 15 saves.
Last Time Out
Battling the remnants of Hurricane Isaac Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis, the Musketeers shut out IUPUI, 3-0. Freshman Catherine Allon netted her first collegiate goal, which proved to be the game-winner, in the 37th minute. Juniors Taylor Dearbaugh (1) and Mariah Whitaker (2) also scored for the Musketeers. The game was called with 4:44 remaining due to weather.
