CINCINNATI - The Xavier women's soccer team wrapped up the 2012 season at home with a 1-0 loss to the visiting Richmond Spiders Sunday afternoon. Prior to the match, four senior team members were recognized during Senior Day recognition festivities.
"Congratulations to a very good Richmond team today," said head coach Woody Sherwood following the match. "It's nice to have the last few teams we've played talk about what good soccer we try to play here at Xavier. That usually comes with a result but unfortunately we were unable to get a result the last couple of games at home. Certainly we are grateful for our seniors and the contribution the four of them have had over their careers here. We have a great group of returning players I know are willing to work hard in the off-season and they'll be joined by a talented group of 2013s. We'd like to thank all our fans and administration for all their support and we look forward to fall 2013."
