Women's Golf Inks One During Early Signing Period

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Xavier University head women’s golf coach Gina Yoder has received a National Letter of Intent from Lindsay Cornell (East Amherst, N.Y./Clarence), who will join the Musketeers for the 2005-06 academic year.

Cornell will join Xavier after a stellar prep career at Clarence High School where she competed as a member of the boys’ varsity team for four years. Cornell is a three-time winner of the Western New York PGA Girls Championship (2002, 2003, 2004), a two-time winner of the Women’s Buffalo District Golf Association Girls Championship (2003 and 2004) and also claimed the title at the 2003 Buffalo District Golf Association Girls Championship.

“I was very impressed with Lindsay’s love of the game and her tremendous work ethic which drives her to get stronger and continually improve,” said Yoder. “Lindsay will be a tremendous addition to our team and I am excited about the contributions she will make to the Xavier University golf program.”
