Lady Musketeers Take 11th at Notre Dame Invitational

The Xavier Musketeers women's golf team finished tied for 11th out of fifteen teams at the Notre Dame Invitational at Warren Golf Course this past weekend. Iowa finished on top, ahead of Wichita State, Arkansas-Little Rock, and host Notre Dame.

Freshman Abby Fowler (South Medford, Ore./South Medford) led all golfers after the first round with an impressive 78. She went on to card a 243 (78 - 84 - 81) and finished tied for fifth individually, eleven strokes behind medalist Amy Lee (Wichita State) who shot a 232.

Freshman Emily Shoplik (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel Area) shot a 264 (87 - 90 - 87). Sophomore Beth Hamilton (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota East) finished strong, shooting a 267 (94 - 91 - 82). Junior Kelly Bego (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) was one stroke behind, carding a 268 (87 - 94 - 87).

The Musketeers will compete this upcoming weekend in the Wolverine Invitational at Ann Arbor, Mich.
