RICHMOND, Va. – Xavier sophomore Abby Smith was named CAA Women’s Golfer of the Week after tying for sixth place in the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic last week.

The sophomore golfer helped the Musketeers to a second place team finish as they tied for a season low in a round with 296 in the second round on the Ocotillo Golf Resort in Chandler, Ariz. Smith shot 81-70-75—226 (+10) on the par 72, 6,299-yard course for her lowest finish of the season (T6th). The sophomore also scored a career-low, 70, in the second round, bettering her previous career-best of 71. Smith also tallied a career-low tournament score (226), by two strokes and is just one of two Musketeers to shoot 70 this season.
