Women's Golf Fifth Entering Final Round

Xavier’s women’s golf team is currently in fifth place after two rounds at the EKU Lady Colonel Classic in Richmond, Ky. The squad shot a total of 324 for the round resulting in a total of 640 (316-324).

Sophomore Jill Stein (Sussex, Wisc./Hartland Arrowhead) carded an 83 after shooting a 74 in the first round, placing her tied for 13th at 157 (74-83). Junior Beth Hamilton (Norman, Okla./Lakota East [Ohio]) is one stroke behind her and tied for 15th overall after equaling her first round total by shooting a 79 again, finishing with a 158 (79-79).

Freshman Abby Fowler (Medford, Ore./South Medford) is tied for 22nd with a total of 160 (77-83). Senior Kim Farrell (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic) improved from her first round by carding a 79, resulting in a 165 (86-79). Sophomore Sara MacDonald (Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington) finished with a 96 and currently has a 186 (90-96).

Murray State is the current leader with a 624 (312-312). The tournament concludes with the final round starting Saturday at 9 a.m.
