Women’s Golf Finishes 13th at Indiana Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Sarah Sparks put together an impressive round of golf on Sunday for Xavier as the senior carded a 6-over par 78 to lead the Musketeers to a 13th place finish at the Indiana Invitational on the par-72, 6,142-yard Indiana University Golf Course. The Musketeers finished with a two-round total of 647 (+71) while Notre Dame took home team honors as the Irish totaled a 620 and UND’s Noriko Nakazaki claimed medalist honors with a two-round score of 146 (+2).
Sparks finished the tournament at 15-over par (159) to tie for 20th among 112 competitors. Kathleen Hardy fired an 81 in the second round to finish at 17-over par (161). Diana Torry carded a 9-over par 81 in round two and finished with a total of 161 (+17).
Sophomore Kara Manis was 10-over par on Sunday to finish with a 167. Abby Fowler fired a 12-over par 84 and totaled a 168 (+24) for the two-day event. Freshman Erin Gore, competing as an individual, carded an 86 to finish with a total of 171 (+27).
Xavier will take next weekend off before returning to action on Friday, April 15 for the Colonial Athletic Association Championship. The CAA Championship will be played at the Homestead in Hot Springs, Va.
