Xavier Women's Golf Tied For 16th After Two Rounds

BOERNE Tex. – The Xavier women’s golf team dropped from a tie for 15th to a tie for 16th after the second round of play at the Baylor-Tapatio Springs Shootout. Xavier shot a total 319 on the day, bettering their previous days total by nine strokes, to finish with a 647 after two rounds. Xavier is currently tied with the University of North Texas.

Junior Sara Sparks shot again shot a 78 on the day to end the second round with a total of 156. Sparks remains in a tie for 27th.

Freshman Kara Manis fired a 76 in the second round, bettering her first round total by seven strokes. Manis is currently tied for 47th, jumping from her 77th place tie in the first round. Her two-day total is 159.

Senior Jill Stein ended with a two-day total of 164. Stein equaled her first day total of 82 in the second round. She is currently tied for 71st.

Junior Abby Fowler shot an 82 on the day to finish with a two round total of 168. Fowler is currently tied for 91st.

The team will resume action in the final round of the Baylor-Tapatio Springs Shootout tomorrow.
