Round One Results Get Acrobat Reader

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Xavier women's golf team sits one stroke out of the lead after the first round of the 2012 LPGA Xavier Invitational. The 54-hole, three-day event is being held at the Legends Course of the LPGA International Golf Course in Daytona Beach, Fla. Freshman Shane Crutchfieldleads the field after firing an even-par 72.

Junior Ariel McNair opened the tournament tied for 19th place out of 75 competitors witha a score of 79 (+7). Senior Breanna Patz and junior Christine Cash are each tied for 23rd with scores of 80 (+8).  Sophomore Abby Smith rounded out the Musketeers' scoring with a first round 85. Smith is tied for 52nd place.

Senior Alexandra Lake competed as an individual in the tournament.  She posted an opening round score of 89 and is teid for 63rd place.

As a team, the Musketeers carded a 311 (+23) and are currently in second place. The Musketeers trail by only one stroke to Florida Gulf Coast.
