Abby Smith's top-10 finish help the Musketeers climb up rankings.

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Xavier women golf team climbed up to sixth place in the final round of the Chip-N Club Invitational on Tuesday passing Nebraska and Missouri State. The Musketeers shot a team score of 319-317-307=943 (+79). Sophomore Abby Smith finished the tournament in seventh place with a 12-over-par 228 (75-78-75).
The Musketeers had the second lowest team score for the day and the fifth lowest for the tournament. The Musketeers fell only four shots shy of capturing a top-five finish. Each member of the team either tied or had their best round on Tuesday.
Xavier was able to climb up two spots on the standings after freshman Shane Crutchfield had a team-low one-over-par, 73 third round. Crutchfield earned her first collegiate top-20 finish after ranking 17th in the tournament with a score of 234 (+18).
Senior Breanna Patz earned an 18th place finish with scores of 80-78-77=235 (+19). Junior Christine Cash totaled a score of 246 (+30) and finished the tournament tied for 42nd place. Junior Kristin Tan placed in 71th with a score of 270 (+54).
Alexandra Rossi of SMU was the medalist for the Chip-N Club Invite with a score of 219 (+3). SMU also captured the victory with a team score of 903 (304-310-289).
